BENSENVILLE, IL--(Marketwire - August 3, 2009) - Boise Inc. (NYSE: [ BZ ]), a leading paper manufacturer, is kicking off the holiday season early this year with an online holiday carton contest. During the month of August, Boise is inviting the public to select a favorite from three limited-edition holiday carton designs for Boise X-9 multi-purpose paper. Visitors to [ www.boiseholidaycarton.com ] will be able to vote for their favorite design through August 31st and cartons will be shipped during the 2009 holiday season. The winning design will be announced in early September.

By participating in the 2009 Boise Holiday Carton Contest, visitors will also be donating to a worthy cause. For the first 10,000 visitors, Boise will donate $1 to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation for each vote cast to select the favorite 2009 holiday carton design. Toys for Tots is a nationally recognized, non-profit organization that donates new toys to needy children during the holiday season. "Boise is proud to be partnering with an organization such as Toys for Tots and is looking for solid voter turn-out to select this year's holiday carton," said Christy Zukowski, Channel Marketing Manager for Boise Inc.

Once a vote has been submitted, customers will have the option of completing a short survey for the chance to win one of eight $50.00 Best Buy® gift cards. Two winners will be chosen at random each week during the contest period August 3 through August 31. Customers can purchase the winning cartons through their preferred Boise distributor during the holiday season.

Boise X-9 multi-purpose paper delivers quality and consistent performance with each and every ream and is compatible with all office equipment. The 2009 Holiday Carton Contest is Boise's fourth edition of this one-of-a-kind program, but the first to incorporate a charitable cause. "This contest and program is a way for all of us at Boise to say 'thank-you' to our customers for allowing Boise X-9 paper to serve their everyday paper needs," said Zukowski. "We hope to have a little fun with our contest and donate to a worthy cause, to brighten the holidays for children across the country."
