SECAUCUS, NJ--(Marketwire - July 8, 2010) - Panasonic, the leading manufacturer of cordless home telephones worldwide,* today announced that all of its 2010 cordless home telephone systems, available at retailers nationwide, feature proprietary DECT 6.0 PLUS performance for optimal sound quality and extended range. Additionally, the phones offer extended battery life and a variety of time-saving and convenience features designed for the way today's multi-tasking families use their cordless phones.

Panasonic's 2010 cordless phones are designed with feedback from extensive consumer research and raise the bar on performance in three key ways:

Improved Voice Quality
In response to consumer demand, Panasonic's proprietary DECT 6.0 PLUS technology provides better quality reception by increasing the error-correction rate by 80 times compared with Panasonic's prior DECT 6.0 models.

Extended Battery Life
2010 Panasonic cordless phones feature Intelligent Eco Mode, which automatically lowers the handset's power consumption when used near the base station. The result is up to 13 hours of continuous talk time on average, compared to 11 hours of continuous talk time when not using Intelligent Eco Mode.

Double the Transmission Distance with Range Extender Module
The new Range Extender module, included with the KX-TG4053B and sold separately as an accessory for all other 2010 models (SRP $29.95), doubles the effective transmission distance between the base unit and handsets when compared with previous models.

"As part of our commitment to 'ideas for life,' we conduct extensive consumer research and continually improve the features and performance of our cordless home telephones to address our customers' needs," said Bill Taylor, President of Panasonic System Networks Company of America. "Whether it's superior performance and value or simply the ability to block unwanted calls or talk comfortably without dropping the phone while making dinner, Panasonic cordless phones are designed to complement today's busy lifestyles."

Key features offered in the 2010 Panasonic cordless phone lineup are:

  • Call Block** -- Block unwanted calls by creating a Call Block list with Caller ID information; blocked callers get a busy signal.
  • Silent Mode* -- Prevent a bedside handset (or any handset) from ringing at specified times.
  • Talking Caller ID/Alarm/Battery Alert** -- Announces Caller ID info between rings so you don't have to be near the phone to know who is calling. Text-to-speech technology also enables talking alarms such as "it's time for lunch" and reminders such as "please charge" the handset.
  • Non-slip Handset Design** -- Rubberized grip makes it easier to cradle the phone when you need your hands free.
  • Energy Star® Certified -- Phones use about one-third less energy than non-qualified models.
  • Expandable -- The system supports up to six handsets.

Panasonic's new cordless phones are organized into three series, each offering the exclusive features outlined below.
