BRISTOL, Ind.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Ameri-Kart Corp., a Myers Industries, Inc. company (NYSE: MYE) and a leading rotational molder of fuel tanks and plastic components for marine and other industries, today announced that it has acquired technology assets of Enviro-Fill, Inc. Enviro-Filla" is the developer of a new fuel overfill prevention system (OPS) and fuel vapor capture system that will help boat manufacturers to easily meet the 2011 refueling and emission requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"This is a major technology leap for Ameri-Kart as a provider of component solutions to the marine market"

Based in Annapolis, Maryland, Enviro-Fill developed a unique fuel OPS using pressure transfer technology (patent pending) to meet the new EPA and ABYC guidelines, which will begin to take effect July 31, 2011. The Enviro-Fill OPS is the industrya™s only system to use technology independent of a boata™s design to automatically shut off the refueling nozzle when the fuel in the tank reaches 95% full, without spillage. This OPS/tank vent and sensor system provides venting and monitoring of the fuel level in the tank during filling and transfers a pressure signal to the deck fitting when fuel reaches a predetermined level. The Enviro-Fill pressure relief system will allow the boat builder to meet the EPA requirements for capturing fuel vapor (emissions) through either a pressure or a charcoal canister system.

aThis is a major technology leap for Ameri-Kart as a provider of component solutions to the marine market,a said Eric Gottuso, general manager. aEnviro-Fill has been actively involved through the development of the new EPA and ABYC regulations. The OPS technology combined with our fuel tanks will allow manufacturers to comply with the new regulations without making significant, costly changes to their current fuel system design.a

Ameri-Kart will be demonstrating this new OPS technology at the International Boatbuildersa™ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX Show), September 28 a" 30, 2010, in Louisville, KY.
