SECAUCUS, NJ--(Marketwire - March 1, 2011) - Panasonic System Networks Company of America today announced that its value-priced, high-speed KX-MB2000 laser printer, scanner, and copy machine has been named an Editor's Choice Award winner by PC Magazine.
The magazine reported that the Panasonic KX-MB2000 multi-function network printer earned its Editors' Choice Award after rigorous comparison-testing by PC Magazine Labs' office-machine analysts.
Describing it as a "terrific fit for a micro or home office," M. David Stone, PC Magazine's Lead Analyst for Printers, Scanners, and Projectors, praised the KX-MB2000 for its high-speed, cramped-office-friendly compact footprint, network printing and color scanning, 250-sheet paper capacity, and "bargain" price point.
"Considering the price," Mr. Stone wrote, "the KX-MB2000 is extraordinarily fast, with times on our tests that are fully appropriate for the 24-page-per-minute (ppm) engine rating. On a wired network using Windows Vista, I timed it on our business applications suite (using [ Quality Logic ]'s hardware and software for timing) at a total of 7 minutes 45 seconds. That's essentially a tie with [a] significantly more expensive (major brand competitor)."
"Our conceptual goal with the KX-MB2000 was to deliver a fast, high-quality machine that could perform the basic tasks of printing, copying and scanning for a price that virtually any company -- even those just entering the incubator stage -- can afford," said Bill Taylor, President of Panasonic System Networks Company of America.
"The award is quite an honor," Mr. Taylor added, "one we especially appreciate because it validates everything we wanted to achieve with the KX-MB2000. We had a vision of the perfect solution for a niche we knew didn't have the same budget as larger firms. We are gratified at the market reception of our efforts."
With a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of under $130, which includes a robust bundle of Panasonic office-enabling software, "You're essentially paying for a single function personal printer and getting the scanner, copier, and network support thrown in for free," Mr. Stone concluded. "Factor in the fast speed, better than expected paper capacity, and more than acceptable output quality, and the KX-MB2000 easily qualifies for our Editors' Choice as a budget personal and micro-office mono MFP."
