PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwire - February 18, 2011) - The Portland Business Journal today named Amber Nyssen, Williams Controls' Managing Director of India operations, to its annual list of the city's top 40 business professionals under the age of 40. Nyssen, 29, was selected from among hundreds of nominees recognized today at the publication's awards luncheon. The Business Journal selected its winners based on their professional accomplishments, recognition and community involvement.

"Amber played an instrumental role in establishing Williams' global manufacturing sites in China and India," said Patrick W. Cavanagh, President and Chief Executive Officer for Williams Controls. "Her leadership and engineering expertise make her an asset to our company, her profession and the entire Portland community."

As Director of India, for the last 8 months Nyssen has been responsible for establishing Williams Controls' new manufacturing plant in Pune, India. As part of this assignment, she relocated with her husband to India to supervise final aspects of the facility's build-out, production set-up and quality control processes. The Pune plant opened successfully in January 2011, and Nyssen returned to the company's Portland headquarters this month.

Amber Nyssen joined Williams Controls in 2004 as a manufacturing engineer before being promoted several times to management positions with increasing responsibility. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Oregon State University in 2004 and completed her Masters Business Administration degree from Portland State University in December 2010.
