ELWMOOD PARK, N.J.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Sealed Air Corporation (NYSE: SEE) is demonstrating a new corporate SmartLifea" initiative, with new products at this yeara™s Pack Expo show held in Chicago. The SmartLifea" initiative is an integrated, Company-wide approach designed to educate and demonstrate how packaging can enhance sustainability and outline how we are advancing our sustainability mission through our business strategy and across our broad range of solutions. In addition to launching the SmartLifea" initiative, we are announcing that our paper mills received Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) certifications.

Some of our new products on display at Pack Expo booth #S-1639 this week include:

Instapak® RC45 foam

Instapak® RC45 foam provides users with a plant-based, renewable-content packaging foam that is easy-to-use and ideal for light-duty packaging applications. Instapak® RC45 foam contains 25 percent renewable content in the finished foam product, providing reduction in the use of petroleum-based raw materials. Compatible with Sealed Aira™s Instapak® foam packaging systems, the new Instapak® RC45 foam is the first renewable-content product added to the companya™s line of 15 existing Instapak® foam formulations. Instapak® RC45 packaging foam offers the same benefits of other Instapak® foam materials.

Cryovac® trap printed film

Cryovac® trap printed film is the latest print technology for high-speed liquid packages, providing processors, retailers and foodservice operators an opportunity for enhanced merchandising and branding. The Cryovac® trap printed film is capable of producing finished packages from three to 24 ounces for sauces, glazes and gravies to accompany meal kits or meats. The only high-quality printable material designed to run on high-speed Onpack VFFS systems, Cryovac® trap printed film is created with multi-layer coextruded films that have been laminated with print between the layers. The printed film was specifically designed for VFFS packages that require direct contact with food, such as those used in meal kits or paired with raw meats.

Cryovac® 360 Shrink Sleeve Label

The new Cryovac® 360 full-body shrink sleeve film is ideal for primary and multi-pack labeling. The multi-layer innovation offers a 5-layer, co-extruded label film that combines the benefits of PET-G and OPS to improve the area yield versus traditional 50 micron films by as much as 25 percent. The lower density and gauge provides more labels per pound of film while providing uncompromised label performance.

Korrvu® Hybrida"

The new patent-pending package design looks like Korrvu® retention packaging, but gives the superior performance benefit of Korrvu® suspension packaging. Similar to Korrvu® retention packaging, the Korrvu® Hybrida" package uses a proprietary retention frame and elastomeric film to hold items securely in place during shipment. The new design is ideal for low-profile products requiring retention-type surface protection with a suspension-type hold, such as small electronics including cell phones, cameras and laptops. As with all Korrvu® designs, the hybrid package provides an opportunity for source reduction, is curbside recyclable and contains more than 30 percent recovered paper, making it easy for customers to be environmentally responsible.

Bubble Wrap® Recycled Grade Cushioning

Sealed Aira™s Bubble Wrap® brand now offers recycled grade cushioning with a minimum of 50 percent pre-consumer recycled content, the highest recycled content minimum for air cellular cushioning on the market. The material incorporates a high-level of pre-consumer recycled content with the patented Barrier Bubble® technology of Bubble Wrap® brand products, so the cushioning retains air longer, providing superior protection and promoting reusability of the packaging material.
