DOWNERS GROVE, Ill.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--At SaraLeeCorp.a™s (NYSE: SLE) annual meeting of stockholders, held today in Oak Brook,Ill., management reviewed the companya™s results over the past year and discussed future strategies to deliver stockholder value.
Also, the board of directors today declared a regular quarterly dividend of $.115 per share on the companya™s common stock. This represents an increase of 4.5 percent, for an annualized dividend pay-out of $0.46 per common share. The dividend is payable on Dec. 31,2010, to stockholders of record at the close of business on Dec.1,2010. The board decided to accelerate the payment of the dividend by one week so that stockholders can benefit from the lower dividend tax rate that is currently set to expire at calendar year end. SaraLeeCorp. has paid quarterly dividends to its stockholders continuously for more than 60years, and todaya™s announcement represents the 259thconsecutive quarterly dividend declared by the corporation.
Finally, the company announced the preliminary results of stockholder voting, which are as follows:
- Stockholders elected all 11incumbent directors to serve one-yearterms on SaraLeea™s board of directors.
- Stockholders ratified the appointment of PricewaterhouseCoopersLLP as SaraLeea™s independent auditor for fiscal2011.
