SEATTLE--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro (HBSS), a nationally recognized consumer rights law firm, is investigating claims by Land Rover owners that certain vehicles are suffering total engine failure, allegedly caused by a defective oil pump. Land Rover is wholly owned by Tata Motors (NYSE: TTM).

In one instance reported to the firm, the owner of a 2003 Land Rover Discovery reported his vehiclea™s motor was ruined when the oil pump suddenly failed. The owner purchased the pre-owned 2003 Discovery just six months before the engine blew, and claimed the dealership has refused to fix the vehicle even though Land Rover issued a aTechnical Alerta to its dealers about the oil pump defect.

According to the firm, the Land Rover North America operating group headquartered in Mahwah, New Jersey, issued a aTechnical Alerta to dealers warning that oil pumps in its Discovery vehicles can malfunction, which may damage the engine. According to vehicle owners, Land Rover often refuses to repair or pay for damages caused by the alleged defective oil pumps.

HBSS is investigating similar claims against Land Rover North America, and encourages vehicle owners to contact attorneys discuss their legal options at [ LRNA@hbsslaw.com ] or (206) 623-7292.

Land Rover owners who experienced engine problems related to a faulty oil pump may be entitled to full or partial compensation for repair costs, loss of use or diminished value of their vehicles.
