CHARLOTTE, NC and DOWNERS GROVE, IL--(Marketwire - February 13, 2009) - [ Patient Care Technology Systems ] (PCTS), a subsidiary of Consulier Engineering, Inc. (NASDAQ: [ CSLR ]), today announced that [ Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital ] (AGSH) has selected the company's [ Amelior ORTracker ]® system to improve the efficiency and operating capacity of its 35,000-square-foot, 15-OR suite surgical services department. The hospital will initially track surgical trays among other movable medical equipment and has contracted with PCTS to expand its deployment to include automatic patient tracking at a future date. PCTS will implement an active-RFID real-time locating network as part of its implementation.

The Amelior ORTracker solution is part of PCTS's enterprise visibility suite which comprises departmental to facility-wide software solutions and services designed to more efficiently and safely orchestrate patient care through the real-time visualization of patient flow. Hospitals can scale their implementations by the entities they wish to track (movable medical equipment, patients, staff), purpose (asset management, patient flow, infection control) and by the scope of hospital workflow (perioperative department, emergency department, outpatient services, med/surg, facility-wide).

The web-based Amelior tracking software visualizes workflow by automatically identifying the location of people and equipment and the care progression of patients. Location information is generated by integrating with a facility's choice of real-time locating system (RTLS) including infrared, radio-frequency, ultrasonic and hybrid technologies. The PCTS software is compatible across all locating technologies. Workflow algorithms within the software interpret the meaning of location, movement and interactions between patients, staff and equipment to alert caregivers to patient care milestones as they occur. Additional interfaces to hospital and department information systems and communication devices create a centralized workflow communication and management portal that eliminates the need for manual updates and delays caused by a lack of information.

At Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, PCTS will be implementing an active-RFID locating network. The network provides plug-and-locate installation convenience eliminating the need for hard wiring location sensors. The locating hardware includes sterilizable tags to support the tracking of trays within their sterile processing and surgical services departments. The hospital plans to initially track 150 trays.

"After a thorough marketplace review, we chose Patient Care Technology Systems because they demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of the choices available to us and could provide us with an integrated software and hardware solution tailored to our specific needs," said Peggy Guastella, director of surgical services. "Working with PCTS, we are able to scale our implementation to meet our immediate needs for tray tracking and our future vision for patient tracking. We believe workflow automation will help support our busy caregivers and improve the experience for our patients."

"We are very pleased to welcome Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital as the newest member of our growing network of health care facilities," said Tony Marsico, president and CEO of PCTS. "Real-time location enabled workflow automation offers tremendous cost savings and revenue potential to hospitals seeking to improve resource utilization and improve the efficiency of key service lines. With our growing network of leading locating technology partners and our scalable workflow visibility and automation platform, PCTS can tailor workflow automation to the unique needs of each health care provider."

Patient Care Technology Systems will be demonstrating the Amelior ORTracker system at the [ Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) Congress ] in Chicago on March 17 - 19 in booth #1087.
