WABCO Reman Solutions Wins Major Contract to Remanufacture Air Conditioning Compressors for a Global Car Manufacturer in U.S.

BRUSSELS, BELGIUM and LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY--(Marketwire - March 21, 2012) - WABCO Holdings Inc. (NYSE:WBC) ([ www.wabco-auto.com ]), a global technology leader and tier-one supplier to the commercial vehicle industry, today announced that its Reman Solutions subsidiary has entered into an agreement with a globally operating automaker headquartered in the United States to remanufacture air conditioning compressors. The announcement was made at the 2012 Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) in Louisville, Kentucky.

The company also announced that WABCO Reman Solutions has achieved International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certifications - ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14001:2004 - for successfully developing standardized quality and environmental management systems at its remanufacturing facilities in Rochester Hills, Michigan, and Stanowice, Poland.

The air conditioning compressors are remanufactured at the WABCO Reman Solutions facility in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

Formed by WABCO in 2010, WABCO Reman Solutions specializes in remanufacturing electronic and mechatronic components, as well as traditional mechanical products that are made by WABCO and other manufacturers. WABCO's remanufactured products serve original equipment manufacturers as well as tier-one and tier-two suppliers in North America and Europe.

WABCO Reman Solutions has earned ISO certifications as follows:

  • ISO/TS 16949 - technical specifications for the development of a quality management system that provides for continual improvement, emphasizing defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain.
  • ISO 14001:2004 - certification to establish, implement, maintain and improve an environmental management system, and to assure conformity with the system's stated environmental policy and standardized environmental objectives.
