Li-ion Motors Corp's (OTCBB: LIMO) Answer to High Gas Prices: Li-ion's X-Prize Winning WAVE II; INIZIO, the World's Fastest, All Electric, Zero Emissions Supercar; and the World's Longest Running Lithium Powered Car Driven Daily by Retail Customer Since 2007
MOORESVILLE, NC--(Marketwire - Mar 26, 2012) - Li-ion Motors Corp (
ANSWER TO HIGH GAS PRICES IS RIGHT HERE
The WAVE II, Li-ion Motors' two seat, all electric, zero emission commuter car delivers an impressive 202.5 MPGe, as rated by the Argonne National Lab (US Department of Energy). Gasoline prices in the United States have risen above $4 per gallon in many parts of the country and are expected to continue to increase. Turmoil in the Middle East and other oil producing regions is putting additional upward pressure on fuel prices. At 20 MPG for an average car, the fuel cost is 20 cents per mile. The cost to operate the WAVE II is less than 02 cents per mile -- 1/10 the cost of its gasoline counterpart. With fuel prices continuing the march upward, ALL ELECTRIC, ZERO EMISSION cars from Li-ion Motors are poised for increased consumer acceptance and demand.
INIZIO UNDERGOES SIGNIFICANT ENHANCEMENTS
Li-ion is developing an in-house motor controller to work with the patented Battery Management System (BMS) which will continue to increase the overall efficiency. During the 2010 X Prize, Li-ion Motors proved its BMS resulted in a 30-50% higher efficiency than the competition.
The benefit of higher efficiency will increase the range, while utilizing less lithium ion batteries to travel similar distances reducing the cost of propulsion systems developed by Li-ion Motors.
Li-ion is further enhancing the performance of the INIZO by moving to a dual motors configuration, a 5 speed sequential transmission and high performance capacitor that truly makes the INIZIO the fastest electric supercar in the world while enhancing stability and control at high speeds.
Li-ion Motors Corp's Inizio is a 100% electric supercar, capable of 170 MPH, accelerating from 0-60 MPH in 3.4 Seconds and ZERO EMISSIONS. With a 114 inch wheel-base and 78 inch wide footprint, the Inizio is surprisingly stable at high speeds.
Li-ion MOTORS LEADS THE WORLD CELEBRATING 4 YEARS OF PROBLEM FREE DAILY USE.
Li-ion Motors proudly reflects that the 2007 "Once in a Lifetime" package with Li-ion Motors, Sam's Club and NASA was the first ever lithium powered, all electric vehicle sold to a retail consumer. The car has been in use with normal driving, and now has over 27,500 miles by its very satisfied owner who has enjoyed over 4 years of trouble-free use. Texas Attorney Keith Branyon was the successful buyer of the first lithium ion powered car anywhere in the world and drives the car daily.
Branyon's reason for bidding on the package was because of his desire to see a space shuttle launch, which was included with the package as offered by Sam's Club, NASA and Li-ion Motors. "The car has proven to be a whole lot of fun. I didn't bid on the car because I thought it would be cheap transportation, but it has turned out to be that." Says Branyon. He goes on to say, "I'm a proud owner and a satisfied customer," calling the car his "Energizer Bunny."
Using the vehicle daily to drive to work and everything else, Branyon has also stated, "I think the technology is amazingly good if you live in an urban area and do a lot of city driving."
He keeps it plugged in when not driving it, and says he hasn't seen any significant change in his electric bill, "I know it's not free but it feels like it is."
Li-ion is not new to electric cars. Incorporated in 2000, with headquarters in Mooresville, NC the company is a pioneer in the advanced development of Lithium Ion battery technology and has over a decade of research and development. Li-ion has been converting internal combustion cars to all electric for individual and corporate customers as well as government agencies such as NASA and is poised for significant growth moving forward.
Li-ion has converted PT Cruisers, Mini Coopers, Toyota Yarises, Pontiac Vibes, trucks, and motorcycles. The company's customer base extends to other countries including Canada, the Netherlands, and the United Arab Emirates.
Along with the production of original vehicles, the company licenses its proprietary Battery Management System (BMS) and technology to automobile manufactures seeking to advance their electric vehicle offerings.
