EVANSVILLE, Ind.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Today, Accuride Corporationa™s (OTCBB: ACUZD), Fabco Automotive division announced the release of the new TC-180 Single Speed Transfer Case and PTO-180 Split Shaft PTO. The new gearbox family allows customers to expand vehicle capabilities without significant design changes necessary to integrate the Fabco product.
"The Model 180 has 20 percent more torque capacity and over 30 percent higher horsepower rating than the Fabco Model 170 family of gearboxes"
aFabco developed the new Model 180 family of gearboxes in anticipation of the industrya™s demand for higher horsepower powertrains and increased load carrying capacity in severe service applications,a said Al Sunderland, President of Fabco. aThe Model 180 gearboxes allow customers to achieve these goals without having to undergo significant changes to chassis configurations or incur a weight penalty.a
aThe Model 180 has 20 percent more torque capacity and over 30 percent higher horsepower rating than the Fabco Model 170 family of gearboxes,a added Sunderland. aAt the same time, the Model 180 is a bolt-in replacement for the 170. This makes it very easy for the truck and equipment OEMs to manage the change.a
Fabco engineering invested in considerable research and development efforts designing a higher capacity gearbox that can be easily integrated into existing customer applications. Important features developed to meet these requirements include:
- Design of a new high strength precision cast main housing
- Use of new high capacity forged helical gearing
- Increasing lubricant capacity with a larger oil sump
- Revisions to lubricant flow compared to the Model 170
- Use of a military-proven Fabco proprietary lubrication pump
The Model PTO-180 Split Shaft PTO is designed for demanding applications such as oil field well service, water well and geotechnical drilling, hydro-excavation and other critical vocations. The Model 180 PTO allows the truck engine to power high capacity hydraulic and mechanical systems, thereby eliminating a costly and heavy auxiliary deck engine. The Model TC-180 Transfer Case is for on/off highway all wheel drive vehicles, with a variety of end uses, including military, electrical utility, municipal, construction, mining, logging, and oil field applications.
Fabco Automotive has the most complete line of integrated all wheel drive transfer case and steerable drive axle systems for Class 6-8 vehicles in the industry.
