Smith announces that a class action lawsuit has been filed on behalf of all persons or entities who purchased the common stock of American Apparel, Inc. (aAmerican Apparela or the aCompanya) (AMEX:APP) between December 20, 2006 and August 17, 2010, inclusive (the aClass Perioda). The class action lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

American Apparel is a designer, manufacturer and retailer of fashion apparel for women, men, children and pets. The Complaint alleges that during the Class Period the Company and certain of its executive officers and/or directors violated federal securities laws by issuing material misrepresentations to the market concerning American Apparela™s operations and financial performance, thereby artificially inflating the price of the Companya™s securities.
