Myers Industries Names Melanie Bingham Senior Vice President of Human Resources

AKRON, Ohio--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Myers Industries, Inc. (NYSE: MYE) announced today that it has named Melanie S. Bingham to the position of Senior Vice President of Human Resources (HR). Bingham will join Myers Industries effective September 27, 2010.

In this position, Bingham is responsible for developing, implementing and directing the Human Resources plans, programs and activities throughout the corporation and its four business segments, including organizational development, succession planning, benefits, performance management and compensation programs.

Bingham brings a wealth of knowledge to Myers Industries, with more than 20 years of experience in the HR field. Since 2005, she was with InvacareCorporation of Elyria, Ohio, a $1.8 billion home health care products manufacturer and distributor, most recently serving as Group Human Resources Director. In that position, Bingham was responsible for HR leadership across multiple business units and corporate functions, including finance, IT, customer service, global operations and supply chain, quality and regulatory compliance.

Prior to Invacare, from 2002 to 2005 Bingham was Vice President Americas Human Resources for Novar IBS Americas, a $2.8 billion British conglomerate acquired by Honeywell in 2005. From 1991 to 2002, she served in various HR positions at Perfetti Van Melle USA, subsidiary of a $1.2 billion privately held candy manufacturer and distributor based in the Netherlands. She started her career in Industrial Labor Relations and Personnel positions from 1985 to 1991 with Multi-Color Corporation (formerly Georgia Pacific), a leader in consumer labeling and packaging based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
