LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--ACCO Brands Corporation (NYSE: ABD), a world leader in select categories of branded office products, today announced that Christopher M. Franey will join the company as president of its Computer Products Group, which markets products globally under the Kensington® brand. Franey will be an executive officer of the company and report to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Robert J. Keller.

Franey most recently served as vice president, marketing and commercial sales, for the Information Technology Division of Samsung Electronics Americas. In this role, he was the sales and marketing leader of an estimated $800 million business, which markets desktop monitors, laser printers, multifunction devices, video security systems and personal computers.

Earlier, he held positions of increasing responsibility at ViewSonic Corporation, a leading global provider of visual display technology products. In 2004 and 2005, he was president, Americas, where he headed the company's largest division and had direct responsibility for sales, marketing, finance, information technology, operations and logistics. While at ViewSonic, he led a turnaround of the company's European business.

From 1987 until 1993, Franey was national sales manager for Kurta Corporation, which marketed electronic equipment. He began his career at Moore Corporation, serving in a number of sales and management positions. He is a graduate of the University of Washington with a bachelor's degree in economics.

"Christopher is a seasoned executive with a deep understanding of the global computer products industry," said Keller. "His accomplishments in sales, marketing and general management will be an asset to us as we continue to grow the Kensington business in a very competitive marketplace."

Franey, who assumes his new responsibilities on December 11, succeeds Boris Elisman. Elisman was named president, Americas, for ACCO Brands Corporation in October.
