  • Neighbors said the explosion shook homes around the Lake View neighborhood and sounded like a plane or train crash.

An explosion in upstate New York resulted in the complete destruction of a house, leaving one person dead and another critically injured. The incident occurred in the town of Waddington, near the Canadian border, and was reported around 10:30 p.m. on a Friday. Emergency services responded to the scene, where they found the house "just gone" and the two victims. The cause of the explosion is under investigation, but preliminary reports suggest it may have been related to a propane leak. The explosion's impact was felt by neighbors, who described hearing a loud blast and feeling their homes shake. The identity of the deceased has not been released, and the injured person was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.
