2-alarm house fire 'fully involved' near Freedom Park after possible explosion

  • The Mecklenburg EMS Agency says they were called for reports of burns and an explosion. However, officials have yet to confirm what exactly led up to the fire.

A two-alarm house fire in West Philadelphia was fully extinguished by firefighters on Monday morning, with no reported injuries. The fire, which started around 6 a.m. on the 5900 block of Spruce Street, was brought under control by 7:30 a.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the American Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.
