Milwaukee house fire near 9th and Ring; cause under investigation

A house fire occurred on Milwaukee's north side near 9th and Ring streets on January 16, 2023, around 10:30 p.m. The fire, which started on the first floor, spread to the second floor and attic. Firefighters rescued two people from the second floor, and a total of six individuals were displaced. One person was hospitalized for smoke inhalation, but no other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the American Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.
