MALVERN, PA--(Marketwire - April 13, 2011) - Vishay Precision Group, Inc. (NYSE: [ VPG ]) today announced that Kip Reiner and Aaron Ram from the Vishay Foil Resistors applications engineering team will present a supplier update at the 40th annual Space Parts Working Group (SPWG). Being held on April 26 and 27 at the Doubletree Hotel Torrance/South Bay in Torrance, Calif., the SPWG is an international forum for resolving problems with high-reliability electronic parts for space applications.

Taking place on April 27 at 3:45 p.m., Reiner and Ram's presentation will discuss the use of resistors in aerospace applications, and explore the advantages and disadvantages of the three most widely used precision resistor technologies -- thin film, wirewound, and Bulk Metal® Foil. They will demonstrate that of these technologies, the new generation of Bulk Metal® Foil resistors from Vishay Precision Group offers the lowest noise and TCR, and highest stability and speed.

Reiner and Ram will go on to present relevant testing protocols developed by space customers that may be used as a basis for testing components, including the EEE-INST-002 guidelines. Developed by NASA, the EEE-INST-002 guidelines are flexible enough to accept any technology and part type, and Vishay Foil Resistors has responded with more than five specifications suggested for these types of critical projects.
