LAFAYETTE, IN--(Marketwire - Apr 17, 2012) - [ Wabash National ] (
"This is a significant milestone for our company. Not only does it provide a standardized quality system to build upon, it further solidifies our commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence," said Dick Giromini, Wabash National Corporation president and CEO. "Across the organization, Wabash National is constantly looking for programs like ISO to measure the effectiveness of systems to keep the company moving forward and better serve our diverse customer base."
The ISO 9001:2008 standard provides a tried and tested framework for taking a systematic approach to managing an organization's processes to consistently create products and services that satisfy customer expectations.
"Completing the process took commitment from all levels of the organization. Behind the scenes, the quality assurance department worked at a grueling pace, support functions and manufacturing associates met the challenge, while associates leading the project paved the way for change," said Pat Griffin, vice president of engineering services. "While pleased with this achievement and our progress-to-date, we are already well underway in the next phase of initiatives to ensure we maintain our position as the leader in product innovation and quality to support the ever-changing needs and demands of the industries we serve."

About the ISO 9001:2008 standard
The ISO 9001:2008 standard is an international reference for quality management requirements and continuous improvement in business-to-business dealings. It is a generic standard that can be applied across all industries, regardless of the product or service delivered. The standard refers to an organization's structure for managing its processes or activities that transform inputs of resources into a product or service to meet customized objectives, such as satisfying customer quality requirements. Companies' compliance to ISO standards are certified by third-party audit and registration organizations, such as QMI. For more information about QMI, visit [ http://www.qmi.com ].
