'Heaven-sent': Lahaina fire survivors gifted 'ohana units to live on leveled properties

The studio-style homes are meant to allow fire survivors to live on their properties as they rebuild.
In the aftermath of the devastating Lahaina fire, survivors are receiving a glimmer of hope through the "Heaven Sent" initiative, which provides them with temporary ohana units to live on their leveled properties. Spearheaded by the non-profit organization Family Life Center, this program aims to help fire victims rebuild their lives by offering them a place to stay while they navigate the recovery process. The ohana units, which are small, modular homes, are being placed on the survivors' properties at no cost, providing them with a sense of stability and a foundation to start anew. The initiative has been met with gratitude and relief from the Lahaina community, as it allows them to remain connected to their land and each other during this challenging time.
