BATTLE CREEK, Mich., Oct. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Famed Kellogg's® cereal mascot Tony the Tiger today expressed his strong support for his fellow Michigan-based Tigers and urged mascots across the state to join him in rallying for the Detroit Tigers as they head home for game three of the World Series.

"I've got nothing against San Francisco, but it's only natural that I have strong allegiance to Detroit, as both a tiger and a Michigander," said Tony, who makes his home in Battle Creek, Mich.  "This is a big deal for our state, and I urge my fellow mascots across Michigan to show their stripes and join me in supporting our Detroit Tigers."

To unify the spirit of Michigan's characters in support of the Tigers, Kellogg's and Tony announced the formation of "Michigan Mascots for Motown."  For every Michigan-based mascot that tweets about their support with the hashtag #showyourstripes, Kellogg's will donate 10 cases of Frosted Flakes (up to 1,000 cases) to Feeding America for distribution to Detroit area food banks.

"Let's get this state rocking and share our love of the Tigers," said Tony.  "Mascots from across Michigan, let's show the Tigers that we think…They're Gr-r-r-reat!®"

All fans – humans and mascots alike – are encouraged to share what they love about the Tigers or their favorite team on Kellogg's Frosted Flakes Facebook page or by following @Kellogg_US on Twitter.
