WABCO Supplies Industry-Leading Vacuum Pump Technology to Chrysler Group for Passenger Cars in North America, Europe and Asia

BRUSSELS, BELGIUM--(Marketwire - June 12, 2012) - WABCO Holdings Inc. (NYSE:WBC), ([ www.wabco-auto.com ]) a global technology leader and tier-one supplier to the commercial and automotive vehicle industry, today announced that the company has entered into a multi-year agreement with leading global automaker Chrysler Group to supply innovative vacuum pump technology.

WABCO's industry-leading vacuum pump technology offers a compact, light-weight design with ultra-low power consumption that helps improve the vehicle's fuel economy while also reducing emissions. Vacuum pumps are a critical component of the vehicle's braking system in passenger cars equipped with advanced diesel, gasoline direct-injection (GDI) and variable valve timing (VVT) engines. In some applications, vacuum pumps also deliver non-braking functions such as actuation for variable-geometry turbochargers. WABCO's patented vacuum pump designs allow these secondary functions to be delivered in isolation from the primary braking function, thus ensuring no interruption to the critical brake-support function.

WABCO currently supplies mechanical vacuum pumps for passenger cars in series production in North America, Europe and Asia. This award from Chrysler marks WABCO's second long-term agreement with leading North American automotive manufacturers, allowing WABCO to build a major presence in the North American market for vacuum pumps.

"WABCO's technology leadership in vacuum pumps continues to gain momentum with global car makers headquartered in North America as our products enable them to improve fuel economy and enhance driver satisfaction while producing cleaner, more environmentally friendly vehicles," said Mike Thompson, WABCO Vice President, Compression and Braking. "We are passionate about continually raising industry standards for vacuum pumps that offer high performance while meeting the increasing demand for ultra-low power consumption."

With more than 50 years of experience in vacuum pump design and production, WABCO currently furnishes a global base of passenger car manufacturers.
