Campbell Soup Company to Celebrate Grand Opening of Expanded World Headquarters

CAMDEN, N.J.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Campbell Soup Company (NYSE:CPB) executives will be joined by New Jersey state and county officials and Camden Mayor Dana Redd to celebrate the grand opening of the companya™s new employee center. The ceremony will be held in Camden on Thursday, June 10, 2010.

Hundreds of community members also will attend the event to mark the completion of the 80,000-square foot, LEED-certified Campbell Employee Center. Campbell is the longest-standing corporate tenant and the only Fortune 500 Company headquartered in Camden, one of the nationa™s poorest cities.

Campbell plans to invest up to $93 million in the expansion project, which includes the new building, ongoing enhancements to existing Campbell facilities and its 40-acre campus, and the acquisition of land for future redevelopment. The expansion is designed to help Campbell attract, retain and develop the best talent in the food industry and to spur increased revitalization in Camden.

With the completion of the new building, Campbella™s Camden World Headquarters will include approximately 750,000 square feet of office, research and development and training space. Features of the new Campbell Employee Center include:

  • A state-of-the-art caf© with a 9-station soup bar as the centerpiece;
  • A grand exhibition hall serves as the signature of the new building with floor-to-ceiling windows and the iconic Campbella™s logo;
  • An open-air courtyard for employees, as well as special company and community events. The courtyard features a vegetable and flower garden custom-designed by the Camden Childrena™s Garden;
  • An innovative training and development center called Campbell University;
  • A fully-equipped fitness center for current and retired employees;
  • A 2,600-square-foot company store.

The new building is part of a broader plan led by Campbell and supported by the State of New Jersey, Camden County and Camden City that includes efforts to develop a 100-acre office park in Camdena™s Gateway District.
