ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - August 5, 2009) - United Cutlery®, industry leader in licensed adult collectibles, today announced it will create, under license from Hasbro, Inc., authentic replicas of the STORM SHADOW Katana and SNAKE EYES Katana, featured in the live action film, "G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA" from Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Entertainment, in association with Hasbro. The swords are now available for advance order through BUDK®, a United Cutlery dealer.

In "G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA," which premieres worldwide on August 7th, an elite G.I. JOE team uses the latest in next-generation spy and military equipment to fight the corrupt arms dealer DESTRO and the growing threat of the mysterious COBRA organization to prevent them from plunging the world into chaos.

Sworn enemies and ninja masters, SNAKE EYES and STORM SHADOW, wield katanas with the deft skills learned from the mystical Arashikage ninja clan, their relationship and rivalry an integral part of the action film.

Each sword offers a hand-forged, high-carbon steel blade with double-fuller groove, mirror finish, and unique etched emblem. The STORM SHADOW katana features a genuine leather and rayskin-wrapped grip with coordinating leather wrapped scabbard. The SNAKE EYES katana features a unique skeletonized handle with black leather wrapped scabbard. Each katana is individually serial numbered and includes a custom table top display stand and certificate of authenticity.

The creation of both swords was overseen by Master Weapon Designer Kit Rae.
