HICKSVILLE, NY--(Marketwire - February 11, 2009) - American Defense Systems, Inc. ("ADSI") (AMEX: [ EAG ]), a leading provider of advanced transparent and opaque armor, architectural hardening and security products for Defense and Homeland Security, reported the U.S. Army's TACOM Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC) has extended its field service contracts for ADSI Crew Protection Kits (CPK) installed on construction vehicles currently deployed overseas.

The extensions comprise two contracts with a total value of approximately $750,000 and cover periods through December 2009. They expand upon existing TACOM CPK-related contracts placed in the fourth quarter 2008 which are valued at more than $4.4 million.

"This field service program is an essential component of our ongoing program with the U.S. Army that provides protective technology on construction vehicles in military theaters overseas," said ADSI's chief executive officer, Anthony J. Piscitelli. "It is part of the contract expansion from TACOM we were anticipating for 2009, which we expect to continue into future periods as our equipment does its job of protecting our brave military service personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan."

ADSI's CPKs are custom designed and fitted to offer a maximum amount of security for the operator. The CPK features windows of fully transparent armor, opaque armor siding that has been ATC Aberdeen tested and approved to meet all Operation Iraqi Freedom requirements, a patent-pending combat lock, tool-less emergency egress windows, fortified door hinges and an integrated crew comfort system. The CPKs are modular and can be applied to the vehicle either during its assembly stateside or as a retrofit in theater. ADSI employs Field Service Representatives (FSRs) that are on the ground in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait to train soldiers on the proper installation techniques and offer on-going expertise and assistance.
