HICKSVILLE, NY--(Marketwire - January 15, 2009) - American Defense Systems, Inc. ("ADSI") (AMEX: [ EAG ]), a leading provider of advanced transparent and opaque armor, architectural hardening and security products for Defense and Homeland Security, reported its protective glass that secured President-elect Barack Obama during his election night victory speech will be featured on "CBS Evening News" with Katie Couric tonight, January 15 at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time.

During the taping of the news segment, various pieces of ADSI protective glass were shot, including approximately 80 rounds at the company's Portable Transparent Ballistic Shield (PTBS). ADSI's President and CEO Anthony J. Piscitelli, COO Ferg Foley and the company's senior VP of research and development, Vic LaSala, were interviewed for the segment by Emmy-awarding winning CBS News chief investigative correspondent, Armen Keteyian.

"We are naturally very excited our protective glass will be featured by this highly regarded major news broadcast," said Piscitelli. "A specially constructed transparent armor shield provided a very high level of protection and security to our president-elect during his election night victory speech, but without obscuring the view of the thousands who attended the event. The security services engaged to protect the president-elect had a number of competitive alternatives to choose from, so we believe their section of ADSI reflects our reputation for delivering state-of-the-art products to those who require the highest level of physical security."
