First lady Jill Biden shines a light on vast funding and research disparities on women's health

Wednesday's event marked the White House's first-ever conference on the subject, bringing together public and private sector leaders, researchers, activists and investors to discuss the challenges.
First Lady Jill Biden announced a new initiative aimed at addressing disparities in women's health research during a visit to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. The initiative, backed by a $12 billion investment from the White House, seeks to close the research gap in women's health by focusing on underfunded areas such as heart attacks, Alzheimer’s, and menopause. This effort is part of a broader push to ensure that medical research includes and benefits all demographics, particularly women, who have historically been underrepresented in clinical studies. The funding will support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) in developing new tools and technologies to improve health outcomes for women. Biden emphasized the importance of this research in saving lives and enhancing the quality of life for women across the nation.
