  • The Crawford County Sheriff's Office says 18-year-old Cameron Spencer was arraigned on four counts of attempted murder, second-degree arson, first-degree home invasion and two counts of malicious destruction of property.

A 36-year-old man from Northern Michigan, identified as Michael Thomas Cummings, has been charged with arson after allegedly setting fire to his ex-girlfriend's home in Kalkaska County. The incident occurred on January 27, when Cummings reportedly used gasoline to ignite the house, which was occupied at the time. Fortunately, the residents managed to escape unharmed. Cummings was arrested following a search warrant executed at his residence, where evidence linking him to the crime was found. He is currently held in the Kalkaska County Jail with a bond set at $100,000. The investigation into the arson continues, with authorities urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
