TMM, Inc.: TRUDEF™ Fractal Video Scaling, 2K to 4K Workflow

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE--(Marketwire - Jan. 9, 2013) - TMM, Inc. (PINKSHEETS:TMMI) ("TMMI" or "the Company") is pleased to demonstrate examples featuring high quality TRUDEF™ Fractal Scaling from 2K to 4K. TRUDEF™ enables video production workflow to remain in 2K throughout the entire production, post-production and distribution process with the benefit of playing at 4K with no increase in file storage size or bandwidth requirements.

The unique Resolution Independent nature of TRUDEF™ technology enables digital video to be scaled up, achieving superior videos images with visually lossless display. With TRUDEF™'s patented fractal compression technology, scaling calculations are performed during compression. Most other forms of video scaling are performed after decompression, which inevitably includes unwanted color loss, degraded content and compression artifacts.

TRUDEF™ fractal scaling has been tested and demonstrated successfully in multiple image acquisition formats, including ARRI ALEXA, RED ONE, RED EPIC, Blackmagic Cinema Camera, and Canon EOS 7D cameras as well as scanned 16mm and 35mm motion picture film with excellent results that retain the high quality of the original source images.

One significant advantage is that these qualities of first generation TRUDEF™ compressed video files now can continue though post production and can be delivered to digital cinemas and home theaters without any further transcoding unless special effects are required. This makes it possible for a digital file containing video shot in 2K, which has been compressed by TRUDEF™, to be decoded at either 2K or 4K resolution to correspond to the intent of the content creator or the specifications of the viewing equipment. These files are classified as .FVF (Fractal Video Format).

Because TRUDEF™ .FIF files are Intra Frames, normal generation loss is avoided when performing Linear or Non-Linear Editing. Samples of the technology can be seen as high quality TRUDEF™ single .FIF (Fractal Intra Frame) at [ http://www.tmmi.us/TRUDEF_4K.php ] (these "I" frames have been extracted from TRUDEF™ compressed videos .FVF and converted to .BMP format for demo purposes).

TRUDEF™ offers consumers an immediate solution to the lack of 4K content currently available in response to demand created by the proliferation of new 4K displays currently entering the market. TRUDEF™ will enable the enormous volume of archived 2K content to be shown in a higher level of quality than standard scaling methods provide.

TMM, Inc. is seeking content providers to demonstrate their artistic work in the TRUDEF™ 4K experience.

ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF TMM, INC.:

GERARD V. CAVANAUGH, CHAIRMAN AND PRESIDENT
