PARIS--(Marketwire - July 15, 2010) - Lectra appoints Laurence Jacquot Group Industrial Operations and Hardware R&D Director
Paris, July 15, 2010 - Lectra, the world leader in integrated technology solutions dedicated to industries using soft materials -- textiles, leather, industrial fabrics and composite materials -- is pleased to announce the appointment of Laurence Jacquot as Director of Industrial Operations and Hardware R&D.
Having led the Group's Industrial Operations division since 2005, Laurence Jacquot will now also take on responsibility for hardware research and development. By bringing these two roles together, Lectra intends to accelerate development through strengthened synergies between the two teams -- 50 employees in Hardware R&D and 150 in Industrial Operations. The objective is to offer customers increasingly innovative and powerful technological solutions with an optimized time to market.
Since its inception, Lectra has made the strategic choice to keep its R&D and production teams in France, and to capitalize on its human assets and acquired expertise, while protecting its industrial property.
"The Vector® range is the flagship of our offer designed specifically for the cutting room. Since 2000, it has enabled us to hold our position as world leader, and it is now more successful than ever, with a sharp increase in orders since the start of the year," said Daniel Harari, Lectra CEO. "Laurence did a superb job of launching the new generation Vector in 2007. These Vector cutters now offer a cut quality and performance unequalled on the market. By bringing our hardware research teams and our manufacturing teams together under the same director, we aim to go a step further and bring a new dimension to all our cutting room solutions."
"Due to Lectra's major investment in R&D over the last few years, we now have a unique offer that is way ahead of the competition," explained Laurence Jacquot. "With an even more integrated process of research, development, manufacturing, maintenance and services, we are further reducing our time to market and our manufacturing and delivery times. At the same time, we are cutting our overall costs and improving flexibility by taking manufacturing constraints into account right from the design phase. Our proximity to our customers allows us to introduce new ideas for developing revolutionary systems that are even more intelligent and communicate even better than before."
Laurence Jacquot joined Lectra in 2000 and quickly took over responsibility for the purchasing department where, with her team, she accomplished an ambitious plan to reduce production costs. In 2005 she was promoted to the post of Industrial Operations Director in charge of manufacturing, logistics, quality and purchasing. Prior to joining Lectra, Laurence occupied various management posts at Henkel France and Sanofi.
