Hoag Hospital Selects Emergency Department Automatic Patient Tracking From Patient Care Technology Systems for Their New Irvine
CHARLOTTE, NC--(Marketwire - May 18, 2010) - [ Patient Care Technology Systems ] (PCTS), a subsidiary of Consulier Engineering, Inc. (
In 2009, Hoag assumed a long-term lease for the hospital facility formerly known as Irvine Regional Hospital and Medical Center. The facility serves as an extension of Hoag's services in Newport Beach and its seven Hoag Health Centers located throughout Orange County. Construction is in progress to add state-of-the-art technology and expanded operating rooms.
[ Amelior EDTracker ] is part of the Amelior Enterprise Visibility Suite™ which comprises departmental to facility-wide solutions to streamline patient flow through the real-time visualization and documentation of patient care. Hospitals can scale their implementations by the entities they wish to track (movable medical equipment, patients, staff), operational goals (asset management, patient flow, infection control) and by scope of care (acute care, outpatient services, inpatient floors, facility-wide).
The web-based Amelior EDTracker software visualizes patient flow by automatically identifying the location and status of patients and equipment without requiring manual updates by busy caregivers. Location information is generated by integrating with a facility's choice of RTLS.
"In May 2009 Hoag Memorial Hospital implemented Amelior EDTracker from PCTS to improve workflow efficiency and to address rising patient volumes," said Tony Marsico, president and chief executive officer of PCTS. "Integrating automatic patient tracking in their new Irvine facility conveys their continued focus on leveraging intelligent workflow automation technologies to provide the best possible patient experience. We are honored that they chose to expand the benefits of Amelior EDTracker to their new Irvine emergency department."
"The implementation of automatic patient tracking was a significant step forward in workflow visibility and automation for our emergency department in our Newport Beach location," said Carla Schneider, emergency department director. "We are dedicated to providing our patients with the most efficient and safest care possible, and it was common sense to expand the use of Amelior EDTracker in our new Irvine location."
