A former Massachusetts police officer has died after firefighters pulled him from a multi-family home that was on fire Tuesday afternoon, news reports said.

A retired Revere police officer, identified as 68-year-old John Doe, tragically died following a devastating fire that engulfed his home on June 15, 2025. The fire, which started around 2 a.m., quickly spread through the residence on Washington Avenue, despite the rapid response from the Revere Fire Department. Firefighters managed to rescue Doe from the burning house, but he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, though preliminary reports suggest it may have been accidental. Neighbors and fellow officers expressed their grief and remembered Doe as a dedicated and compassionate member of the community.
