Suburbs like West Ashley, Summerville, and North Charleston offer a wider range of price points and potentially more opportunities for first-time buyers. While these areas may require a slightly longer commute, the affordability gains can be significant.

Navigating the Charleston housing market doesn't have to be solely about compromises. Exploring alternative financing options is crucial. Numerous down payment assistance programs are available, designed specifically to aid first-time homebuyers. Thorough research is essential to determine eligibility and understand the terms of these programs.
