SPARKS, Md.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Michael R. Smith has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Finance for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) of McCormick and Company, Inc. (NYSE: MKC). Mr. Smith will have responsibility for all finance activities for EMEA and will serve as a member of the EMEA Board of Directors.
Mr. Smith joined McCormick in 1991. Most recently he was Vice President Treasury and Investor Relations. Previously, he served as Vice President Finance and Administration of U.S. Consumer Products, Vice President Finance for the U.S. Industrial Group, Director of Corporate Accounting, Corporate Financial Planning Manager and Plant Controller for McCormickas Hunt Valley, Maryland Plant. Mr. Smith began his career in public accounting at Coopers and Lybrand.
A native of Hanover, Pennsylvania, Mr. Smith earned a BBA degree in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame. He is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
