Central Garden & Pet Approves $100 Million Share Repurchase Program

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Central Garden & Pet Company (NASDAQ: CENT)(NASDAQ: CENTA) (aCentrala) announced today that the Company's Board of Directors has authorized a new $100 million share repurchase program. Under the Companya™s prior $100 million repurchase program, since 2006 the Company repurchased 6.0 million shares of Common Stock and 4.6 million shares of Class A Common Stock for approximately $99.7 million.

Central may repurchase shares of its common stock on the open market at times and prices considered appropriate by management. Repurchasing may take place through brokers and dealers or in privately negotiated transactions, and may be made under a Rule 10b5-1 plan.
