CAMDEN, N.J.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Campbell Soup Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Campbell Soup Company (NYSE:CPB), announced today that it will donate $375,000 to fund summer camp programs this year. The money will help 10,000 Camden area youth attend 27 summer programs run by nonprofit organizations.

Through grants, the Foundation will support summer camp programs that specialize in academics, career exploration, arts, culture and recreation and will provide opportunities for children to participate in a variety of fun and educational activities during the summer, a time when they might otherwise be idle.

Jerry Buckley, Chairman of the Campbell Soup Foundation, said, aWea™re proud to continue our tradition of funding summer programs that enable Camdena™s children to enjoy a range of summertime activities. Wea™re committed to nourishing our neighbors in Camden through focused investments, such as the Summer Program, that can make a significant difference in the lives of Camden residents, especially children.a

Buckley was joined for the announcement by Milford Liss, Executive Director, Boys & Girls Club of Camden County and representatives from 26 Camden nonprofits. About 150 students from the second through fifth grades at Octavius V. Catto Community School attended the event at the East Camden branch of the Boys & Girls Club, along with 75 representatives from the nonprofits. The event included a performance by the Catto School Choral Group.
