VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 20, 2009) - Africa Oil Corp. ("Africa Oil" or "the Company") (TSX VENTURE:AOI) reports that Mr. Rick Schmitt has elected to resign as President of the Company and from the Board of Directors in order to pursue other endeavors. Mr. Keith Hill will assume Mr. Schmitt's responsibilities as President in addition to his current role as CEO.

The Board of Directors would like to thank Mr. Schmitt for his outstanding contribution to the Company and would like to wish him success in his future endeavors.
