FAIRFIELD, NJ--(Marketwire - July 16, 2009) - Virtual Ed Link, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: [ VRED ]) -- Dr. Alan McCartney, COO of Virtual Ed Link, announced today that Albany-Schoharie-Schenectady-Saratoga Board of Cooperative Education Services (BOCES) passed the following resolution:

"It was moved by Mr. Yagielski and seconded by Mr. Bradt to adopt the following resolution designating Virtual Ed Link to be the sole source providers of equipment, products or services required by the Albany-Schoharie-Schenectady-Saratoga BOCES, to provide services to a number of school districts. The motion passed unanimously."

The Northeast Regional Information Center (NERIC), Albany, New York is one of twelve (12) Regional Information Centers (RICs) in the State of New York. They are organizations under the Board of Cooperative Education Services (BOCES) legislation originally enacted in 1948. The combined resources of the twelve (12) Regional Information Centers, totals over 1,700 professional staff members, serving 720 public school districts and the communities in which they reside. This provides the Northeastern Regional Information Center the ability to directly support the 260,000 students and to support the other 2.84 million students that are served by the other eleven (11) Regional Information Centers statewide through their existing broadband network.

Denise Graminski, Assistant Director of the Northeastern Regional Information Center, is enthusiastic about working with the VRED solution since it offers "a web-based suite of safety and security services to school districts across the state through an existing broadband network, with the additional benefit of state aid eligibility."

The solution is now being installed and authenticated. The solution may be replicated within or shared through the other eleven (11) RICs. The use of the existing broadband network and portal technology will allow community leaders to work in unison with cooperating agencies to provide a standardized plan of action utilizing Incident Command System (ICS), National Incident Management System (NIMS), industry best practices, and government standards.

Although every community's needs and circumstances are different, Virtual Ed Link in conjunction with the Northeastern Regional Information Center (RIC), will provide a web-based safety and security suite of solutions that can be adapted as appropriate across the State of New York and charged on a per student basis. Virtual Ed Link and the RIC will provide a holistic, single source, command and control portal that differentiates itself from the rest of the market.
