Digital Chocolate Leverages Marmalade to Bring Hit Game "Galaxy Life" From iOS to Android, Windows Phone 8 and More

Social Game Developer Aims to Have Galaxy Life Available for Android in Time for the Holidays

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - Dec 6, 2012) -  Marmalade, the cross platform tool that allows developers to create without compromise, today announced that its customer Digital Chocolate plans to use the Marmalade SDK to port its hit iOS game, Galaxy Life, to Android and other platforms in time for the holidays.

Galaxy Life is already the #1 space strategy game on Facebook, averaging over 2 million monthly active users as of December 2012. The mobile version, Galaxy Life: Pocket Adventures, has remained consistently in the top-150 grossing apps in Strategy and Role-Playing on the iOS App Store and carries a 4.5 star rating across 1,500 reviews.

Jason Loia, COO, Digital Chocolate: "Expanding Galaxy Life onto additional platforms is a natural next step for us. Being able to develop and deliver simultaneous multi-platform updates to users, and the significant cost advantages of developing once and deploying to multiple platforms were the two key reasons for choosing Marmalade."

Harvey Elliott, Managing Director and COO, Marmalade: "We're excited that Digital Chocolate is taking its games to more platforms using the Marmalade SDK. Doing so will mean they reach a wider audience with the potential to achieve better revenues across their content. By coding once and deploying across all platforms, the Digital Chocolate team can spend the time saved creating their next blockbuster."

Digital Chocolate plans to release Galaxy Life for Android in time for the holidays, and will soon after start deploying to other platforms through the Marmalade SDK. The Marmalade SDK allows developers to code once and deploy to iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8, BlackBerry 10, LG Smart TV, and Mac & Windows Desktop.
