Zenverge Teams up With ProVision to Showcase the Industry's First Whole-Home Wireless TV Solution With Four Simultaneous Channels of HD

CUPERTINO, Calif., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- In a joint effort, Zenverge, a leader in advanced media ICs, and ProVision, a UK Wireless Video technology provider, will demonstrate a robust multi-room Video over WiFi solution for the home using ProVision's AXAR2010 platform at the CableLabs® 2010 Summer Conference. The AXAR2010 demonstration is based on ProVision's end-to-end wireless video software and MIMO antenna technology with unprecedented performance powered by Zenverge's current generation ZN200, the industry leading 4xHD advanced media codec and transcoder system-on-chip. ProVision's AXAR2010 is a licensable product for OEMs, designed for integration into wireless multi-room set-top boxes, residential gateways and standalone consumer electronic video products.

The AXAR2010 demo will show simultaneous real-time transcoding of four HD MPEG2 streams to H.264 streams which are encrypted and sent with Link Protection and DRM over a 802.11n WLAN network to HDTVs, PCs and Portable displays.

"Operators worldwide are looking for ubiquitous, reliable, and cost effective solutions for distributing content around the home," says Amir Mobini, Zenverge CEO. "Zenverge's ZEN architecture, with its industry leading performance and density, was designed from the ground-up to do just that by addressing the interoperability and bandwidth provisioning problems that have thus far prevented such a solution for the whole home. With ProVision's expertise in robust delivery of video over standards-based wireless networks, we have developed a complete solution for operators and OEMs."

Now shipping to qualified customers worldwide, Zenverge's current generation ICs use advanced, patent-pending algorithms and a highly optimized pipeline to deliver unprecedented media processing capabilities in a highly compact, power-efficient, and cost-effective footprint.
