While tourism remains crucial, the broadening economic base provides stability and drives consistent demand for housing. Boise, Idaho, rounds out the top three, demonstrating that the appeal of the Mountain West hasn't waned despite some cooling in recent months. Boise's attractiveness centers around outdoor recreation opportunities, a burgeoning tech scene - often touted as a more affordable alternative to Silicon Valley - and a strong sense of community. However, Boise has faced increasing affordability challenges in recent years, which could impact its long-term ranking.

The remaining seven cities in the top ten further cement the Sun Belt's dominance: Charlotte, North Carolina (No. 4); Phoenix, Arizona (No. 5); Nashville, Tennessee (No. 6); Austin, Texas (No. 7); Tampa, Florida (No. 8); Jacksonville, Florida (No. 9); and Las Vegas, Nevada (No. 10).
