Ridley Inc. Announces Acquisition of Stockade Brands Inc.

MANKATO, MINNESOTA and WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwire - Nov. 28, 2012) - Ridley Inc. (TSX:RCL) today announced that Ridley Block Operations, a Ridley division and leading provider of livestock feed supplement blocks, has acquired Stockade Brands Inc. a privately-held, Pittsburg, Kansas manufacturer of blocks, loose minerals and dried molasses products for livestock and equine markets. The acquisition, whose purchase price was not disclosed, was funded in cash through Ridley's existing credit facilities.

"Stockade is a well-known and highly respected brand with cattle producers in an important market where we will now be more strategically positioned through Stockade's production facility in Kansas," said Bob Frost, Executive Vice President of Ridley Inc. and President of Ridley Block Operations. "Acquisition of the Stockade facility and product family provides additional depth to Ridley's product line-up for beef cattle, dairy, goats, wildlife and equine, and gains access to new marketing channels in the region. We plan to invest new capital in the Pittsburg facility that will extend its production capacity and operating efficiency to handle additional Ridley products," added Frost.

Established in 1946, Stockade operates from a single production facility in Pittsburg, Kansas that is centrally located within one of the most dense cow-calf areas of the United States.

Ridley Block Operations manufactures and markets a complete range of self-fed block supplements for livestock and equine, including low moisture, pressed, compressed, composite and poured blocks, and loose minerals, from facilities located in Minnesota, South Dakota, Texas, Alabama, Kentucky and California.

Ridley Inc., headquartered in Mankato, Minnesota and Winnipeg, Manitoba, is one of North America's leading commercial animal nutrition companies. Ridley employs more than 800 people in the United States and Canada in the manufacture and distribution of a full range of animal nutrition products.
