With the London 2012 Olympic Games coming to a close, the athletes are not the only ones to have achieved great things.  Kellogg Company announced today the over-arching accomplishments for their Olympic platform in support of Team USA, "From Great Starts Come Great Things™."  Announced in October 2011, the campaign engages Americans in celebrating the importance of "the start" in creating the potential for great days, every day.  Kellogg's® also supported Team Kellogg's™.

Team Kellogg's Success

• Rebecca Soni(swimming)added to her medal collection from the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games by taking home three medals in total—two gold and one silver.  In winning gold in the 200m breaststroke, she broke her own world record set the previous night.
• The U.S. Women's Gymnastics team became just the second U.S. team in history to capture the team gold medal. Gabby Douglas made history by becoming the first U.S. woman to both be on the winning team and win individual gold in the all-around.  Aly Raisman won gold on the floor exercise, also a first for the U.S. women, and won the bronze on balance beam.  Additionally, McKayla Maroneycaptured the silver medal on vault and Jordyn Wieberturned in stellar performances to help the "Fierce Five" reach the top of the podium.
• Beach volleyball playerKerri Walshand her partner scored the record breaking three-peat in women's beach volleyball and took home the gold besting the silver medal-winning team from the U.S.
• ArcherJake Kaminskiand his team brought home a silver, the first-ever medal for the U.S. in Olympic men's archery and the start to Team USA medal wins in London.
