LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - Feb 14, 2012) - Today, Respect Your Universe, Inc. (RYU) (
"We are thrilled to have Dillashaw represent RYU at the UFC on Fuel TV 1 against Watson the same week we are releasing our new Men's Line," commented RYU Brand Ambassador Rocky Bice. "Made to fit the training and competition needs of fighters like Dillashaw, he encompasses what RYU's core values of respect, strength, honor and sustainability are all about."
Dillashaw turned pro in 2010 and has two wins by submission and one by TKO. For his upcoming fight against Watson, Dillashaw has been practicing and sparring with Team Alpha Male including kickboxing sessions with Master Thonglor and doing BJJ in the evenings with Dustin Akbari. In addition to this, Dillashaw spends other training time wrestling and doing strength and conditioning at Results along with engaging in training with Mark Munoz at his gym Reign in Southern California. To round-off his training regimen, Dillashaw also does Muay Thai at Kings MMA.
Dillashaw's upcoming Main Card fight against Watson will be part of the first event to be broadcasted on Fuel TV as part of a seven year agreement between the UFC and the network.
"I am very excited to be working with RYU," said UFC Bantamweight Fighter TJ Dillashaw. "It is a classic look, with up-to-date style."
Dillashaw began training for MMA and working towards fighting for the UFC two years after he graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Dillashaw made this decision because he wanted to further pursue competing after his collegiate career of wrestling where he was a three-time NCAA Division I Championship qualifier and ranked as high as 10th in the wrestling rankings.
