The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched the "Young Scientist Programme" named YUVIKA (YUva VIgyani KAryakram) for the year 2025, aimed at school students to foster interest in space science and technology. This initiative, which began in 2019, targets students in Class 9 as of January 1, 2025, offering them a unique opportunity to engage with space technology, science, and applications. The program includes a two-week residential training at various ISRO centers where students will participate in lectures, practical sessions, and visits to ISRO facilities. Applications for YUVIKA 2025 are open, and interested students must apply online through the ISRO Antariksha Jigyasa Platform by the deadline of April 20, 2024. The selection process involves an online quiz, with the final selection based on performance in this quiz, academic performance, and other criteria like participation in science fairs or Olympiads. This program not only provides educational enrichment but also aims to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.
