Pope Francis appears for first time in more than five weeks ahead of his release from hospital

Pope Francis was discharged from Rome's Gemelli hospital on Saturday after being treated for bronchitis, not double pneumonia as initially reported. The 86-year-old pontiff, who has a history of health issues including having part of one lung removed in his youth, was hospitalized for three days. He received antibiotics intravenously during his stay and will continue his recovery at the Vatican. Despite his health challenges, Pope Francis appeared in good spirits, even joking with well-wishers and hospital staff. He is expected to participate in the Palm Sunday Mass, marking the beginning of Holy Week, although his full schedule of activities remains uncertain.
